Until I got to 28 weeks I had only bought one item of clothing for the baby which I bought back in December before I was even pregnant! That first item was a little fluffy white company onesie (as seen below!) which I could not resist! But since then... I've been very restrained until just recently and now feel like I'm fully prepared for a little arrival!
First up... this gorgeous little knitted cardigan which I bought from M&S. I got this in new born but love it so much, I've already decided as soon as the baby is here I'll also get one in either blue or pink!
The white fluffy suit is the one I was talking about just before... isn't it cute! THE WHITE COMPANY have some such lovely pieces but cost that little bit more so are more treat items rather than necessities.
Next up are a couple of basics from JOHN LEWIS. This was one of their few unisex multipacks so had to get it as just loved the grey! I've found lots of shops actually go quite garish for their unisex pieces where as I love all the softer greys and whites. I'm sure some people think this is really boring but I love them!
The little hat and mittens are also JOHN LEWIS and great basics to have... should go with everything!
Next up, super basic!! These little vests are M&S and great value! You can get a 7 pack for £9 which is amazing. These go under all of their sleep suits so I'm sure we will get through these pretty quick. Also... you can't really tell in these photos but they are so tiny!
Now for a bit of velour! When I saw this on the JOHN LEWIS site I knew I needed it for the little bub! It stayed in my basket for a good few weeks until I saw the stock going down so made the purchase! I actually got this in 0-3 months because I love it so much and want it to last.
The gorgeous little knitted hat and boots were actually a present from my friend, and aren't they adorable! I'm completely obsessed with anything knitted. I've see a little knitted jumper and trouser set on H&M which is next on my shopping list!
Next up, a little embroidery! I love all things embroidered (for myself) and it seems I'll be passing this on to our little one. These three suits are from JOJO MAMAN BEBE. One of these I bought as baby's very first outfit... I had it in mind for months and actually bought it a few weeks ago. The other two suits were gifts and am so happy the baby has this gorgeous little range of sleep suits!
They are such lovely quality and aren't the matching hats so cute... definitely the sleep suits for when the baby has visitors!!
If only baby could see all these lovely things there are waiting for him/her to wear!

Black is supposed to be slimming isn't it? Well that was the hope! This dress isn't actually maternity... It's one I got years back from ASOS and I actually wore it on my first date with my hubby (although it looked very different then!) so it has a little sentimental value too!
As you can probably tell, I've kind of been living in these stretchy dresses. They are so comfy whilst almost still being quite flattering. I think now at this size... you almost need to show off your shape more rather than swamp it with material!
I'm also wearing my WHISTLES leather jacket which has to be more most worn item in my wardrobe (I don't know what I'd do with out it) and also my new shoes!!
This is no exaggeration, but I have wanted these shoes from R&B for 2 years at least. I've never been able to quite justify getting them though. Until... they went in the sale a few weeks ago, and then got reduced a second time and that was when I knew the deal had to be made!
I'm SO happy with them. They were slightly big so have added insoles but so worth it for the joy I have got out of them. A practical shoe too so are already getting plenty of use!
Last to mention but definitely not least... my new straw bag! It's super late in the season to be buying a new summer bag, but for the last couple of years I've been looking for a straw bag and I never seem to find one. This bag missed all my holidays but it is ready and waiting for next year!! Also... it was such a bargain. Hoping it's still in stock for you guys!
Welcome to my first 'Baby Diaries' post! This is a little bit more of a diary entry compared to my normal blog posts, but I thought I might do a baby diaries series as with not too long to go know it's quite a nice way to document the changes and all the happenings that are going on!
Later this week I will turn 30 weeks pregnant. 30 has always felt like a big milestone for me. I feel like from 30 the proper count down can begin, 10 weeks to go... whoop! The last few weeks I've started to feel so much bigger every day (which was bound to happen!) Each morning I wake up thinking this bump has grown over night.
Sleeping at night is becoming far more awkward and once I wake up (usually about 3am) I'm finding it so hard to drift back off to sleep. Usually because the baby is having a little dance and I can't help but feel my tummy waiting for the next kick which is keeping my brain far too alert!
Lots of my non-maternity clothes that have fitted me through out the pregnancy (mainly shirts and tops) are all starting to get just a little too tight. I'm transferring in to the stretchy tshirts now for maximum comfort! I've been trying so hard not to go crazy on maternity wear just because I know I don't need it for very long. I've got a few staple dress, 2 pairs of jeans and some tshirts but am getting to the point where I need to get just a couple more bits to keep me going. ASOS, TOPSHOP and NEWLOOK are definitely my go to for these!
Over the last few weeks, I've finally allowed my self to start buying things. And by start... I also mean finish. I've gone a little crazy and think I almost have everything that was on my list. Nothing wrong with being prepared!
Clothes wise I wasn't sure whether to bother with newborn of just get 0-3 months... but then I decided I didn't want my little baby looking all baggy for it's arrival! So... I stocked up on newborn as I would far rather have it and not need it. I'm sure they'll get some good use anyway, and oh my goodness they are so cute and tiny! It's so strange to think our little baby is actually going to be in those clothes.
Obviously everything is neutral. I've got patterned white/grey onesies for the day time... and just plain white for bedtime. So i'm fully stocked in new born... and have a little bit of 0-3 but am really waiting until we know the gender so baby's wardrobe can get a little colour added to it! I'll definitely be doing a post on all my baby purchases so far.
The nursery is starting to take shape which is so exciting. I've had what I wanted to do with the nursery planned for SO long now. Finally each room in our house has a purpose and I pop in to the babies room most days just to admire it! A nursery tour post will definitely be coming up in the near future, so stay tuned!
I'm obsessed with anything knitted! It's not quite the right season now... but a few things are starting to come in to the shops and are SO gorgeous! Here are just a couple of little bits that I'm in love with. Obviously can't buy either of these until the baby is here! So looking forward to more winter wear coming in to the shops!
I'm sure it wont be too long until my next 'Baby Diaries' post. I feel like I have some catching up to do since only announcing with my followers a few weeks ago!
This is a blog title I could use A LOT through out my pregnancy as all maternity ranges seem to be full of stripes... it's almost hard to avoid them!
This particular dress is from NEWLOOK. As I mentioned in my announcement post, I've been loving and living in these stretchy jersey dresses!
It's taken me a while to actually feel comfortable in something so super tight and so bump exposing, but I'm just about there! These dress came in 3 colour ways too... I've got 2 of them and waiting for the last to come back in stock!
Paired with my stripes, I'm wearing a simple denim jacket from SHEIN which is new to my wardrobe! Through out the cooler months I LIVE in my leather jacket. This denim number is such a perfect alternative for the warmer days we are having and I think it works so well with the stripes! On my feet and my MARKS AND SPENCER suede sandals which I fell in love with as soon as I saw! Also, having slip on shoes is the best idea ever when there's a bump in the way!
A super simple and super comfy maternity look that I will absolutely be recycling!
It just so happens that I've been keeping a whopping big 6 month secret from you all! I'm so excited I am now finally announcing it!
Friends of my hubby and I have known since about 4 months but we both decided to go public a little later than usual for a number of reasons.
This isn't actually my first pregnancy, back in October last year we lost our first at just under 17 weeks pregnant. It was such an awful time and was so unexpected as I never thought it would ever happen to us. Being young and healthy I naively didn't even consider that something could possibly go wrong, and getting to 12 weeks you almost think you are out the danger zone, which in the majority of cases you are. We were just super duper unlucky and if anything it made me appreciate more than ever how much of a miracle it is to get pregnant, and have a healthy pregnancy and baby... Which is exactly the case this time! (Moving swiftly on and keeping that paragraph incredibly brief!)
This pregnancy has pretty much been a dream! It took me a good 3 months to believe I was actually pregnant, but once I got through that the excitement definitely took over. I didn't really suffer from morning sickness... just felt a lot hungrier which is actually quite hard to disguise when working in an office. Suddenly I became a major snacker! Of course we were both nervous at first, but this time round we were offered lots of extra scans for our peace of mind which was amazing. We got to first see what looked like a little jelly bean at 8 weeks, then also at 12, 16 and 20 weeks so have been truly spoilt with scan photos!
The 20 week scan is when you can find out the sex of the baby which we chose not to do! We always knew we would have a surprise for our first and I'm so excited that we don't know! I completely understand the practicality of finding out as I am currently shopping for lots of little things in white and grey!
With only 3 months to go, we are finally starting to get going with buying baby things. I've got such huge shopping lists on John Lewis, M & S, Ikea and Amazon and one by one orders are starting to be made which I'm finding far to exciting. Baby clothes are just SO irresistible!!
It's so lovely to finally be sharing this news and now of course lots more maternity related posts will follow! The count down for due date has begun... bring on October!
