This weekend was a particularly festive one... and I loved it! Yes, it is still November, but it's also only one month until Christmas so I figured festivities are allowed to begin!
Our day was filled with gingerbread making and festive decorating! I've started to put up a few or the more subtle decorations but am saving the tree for December 1st. I think that's fair!
So... our festive day started with biscuits, followed but a winter walk to track down some festive foliage, and it ended with us decorating our stars with our greenery. Just perfect! This is going to become a yearly tradition for sure!
Hooray for my first ever Mothers Day which is quickly approaching! Since having Florence my world has changed for ever in the best way possible. I suddenly have someone to put first in every way possible, not because I have to, but because I want to.
The amount of joy this little person brings is just amazing. Seeing every little development is so rewarding. So far, rolling, sitting (with a little help) smiling and giggling... every second is amazing.
I guess it's not a bad life being fed, cuddled, napped and then repeating that all over again for a very long time. What's not to be happy about.
For my first Mothers day I plan to be lazy! Florence and I have both been treated to some gorgeous new pyjamas from Debenhams for the occasion. Aren't they beautiful! I've linked them both at the bottom of the post. My Pj's are by Nine - Savannah Miller and Florence's are by Bluezoo. Also, my pyjamas must be made on a non crease material. I woke up and my pjs literally looked like they'd just been taken off the hanger!
If any Dad's out there happen to be reading this... these are great presents!!
Wishing every single Mummy the happiest of Mothers Days this Sunday!
Happy new year to all my wonderful readers! This isn't a blog post about the new January diet, fitness regime or anything along those lines... Because lets face it, come February I would probably have failed.
My new year isn't about resolutions, it's about doing MORE. My family have always on new years eve made 'THE LIST'. These are things we would like to do in the coming year.
Last year my list was huge. Places to go, home improvements to make... and the big one was to have a baby! Tick tick tick. This year I have a lot less on the list, but one thing I know I would really love to do is go back to Copenhagen with Florence. My husband and I went last March and I absolutely fell in love with the city. I need to go back!
I love reflecting on the past year and realising what I have achieved. Lots of people were doing 2017 round ups on Instagram stories which I thought was such a good idea! I joined in too... it's amazing to go back and see everything you have done!
Now it's time to bring on a lot of new adventures! What's on your list?
This weekend I had my baby shower and it was SO amazing!! We had the most lovely afternoon tea over at my parents house and it was just perfect. It has come at just the right time too. This last stretch has been the slowest of them all, and the shower has given me that final boost I need!
We ate so much cake and sandwiches which were all so delicious! All the food was from M&S which was so easy and hassle free! These little bags of caramel fudge were the party bags for the girls! Can't wait to tuck in to mine!
I was so lucky to be given so many beautiful presents and I just cannot believe that now it's almost time for the baby to arrive!
A spa day I honestly feel is one of the most relaxing things you can do! I actually had one back in July and it was so amazing that I re-booked for my hubby and I come to as I thought this would be a perfect pre baby treat for us both. Definitely making the most of peace and quiet while we have it!
Eastwell Manor is a Champneys spa hotel in Ashford, which is just over an hour away from home so not too far to travel at all. It has really beautiful grounds and is fairly new to the Champneys group so I was very keen to try it out!
Arrival was from 9am, which we aimed for so we could get the most out of our day. We got a lovely light breakfast on arrival before changing in to our robes an slippers for a full day of relaxation!
Both of our treatments were booked in for 2pm, and our lunch slot was 12.30 so we had a couple of hours to kill by the pool... not a hard job at all!
I have so enjoyed swimming this pregnancy, so I did a few lengths of the pool and we both then went and spent a little time in the hydrotherapy pool which is basically a giant hot tub... with out the hot! Perfect for a pregnant person as you are supposed to avoid the heat! No sauna or steam room for me unfortunately... so I made the most of this!
Soon enough it was lunch time and somehow we had actually both worked up a hunger! Lunch was AMAZING. The quality of food was so so good and it all felt super healthy. But oh my goodness... the chocolate brownie that we ended on was just divine!
Would happily have this 3 course lunch all over again right now. It was SO delicious!
After lunch we headed to the treatment rooms where we both had a full body massage. Mine was called 'Beautiful Bump' and Charlie's was the mens 'Champneys Massage' both 50 minutes long and such a treat! The massage beds are even heated!
Already tempted to come back again... but maybe I need to wait a little longer than a few months other wise this could become a very expensive habit!
