I mean, how cosy is this!! I've been looking for a teddy coat for a couple of seasons now but have never found quite the right one. I really liked the Whistles one last year but I couldn't justify the spend! This H&M coat however, was very reasonable! The only maternity item I'm wearing in this look are my jeans (Topshop Joni jeans, so are also available in non-maternity)
I went for the coat in a small as I knew it would be quite oversized and I'm so pleased I did. It's perfect! I can't wait to wear this all winter long. Also... it fits the bump inside which means it should also fit the baby strapped to my front inside. One cosy little combo!
The bag I am wearing today is Fiorelli and is part of their breast cancer awareness campaign for the month of October. This particular style I am wearing is called 'The Bethnal' which is one of 4 pinstriped bags in this collection. Just search #CarryYourConfidence on insta to see everyone getting involved in the campaign! It really is such a great cause, and you can read all about it on the Fiorello website just here.
Today boots are a new Public Desire pair, and I'm loving them! I feel like they are so flattering on the leg and made me feel the slimmest I have all pregnancy! Although with quite a heel height, I'll be saving these for evening do's rather than all day wear.
As we come in to September it certainly feels like we have said farewell to the summer... And I'm secretly quite excited to be wearing knitwear again!
This jumper is a new TOPSHOP purchase of mine and isn't maternity, although I did get it in tall for a little extra length to cover more bump. I thought this would be great post pregnancy as I'm already far to excited to treat myself to some new winter clothes for my bumbless self!
Paired with my trusty WHISTLES leather that gets a whole load of use and my little MANGO bag. A couple of staples that I can't be with out! Also... one item that is very definitely maternity are my jeans. These are the Joni jeans from TOPSHOP and are by far the best maternity jeans I've come across. So comfy and stretchy and actually stay up top (always handy!)
A fairly simple look for the summer/autumn transition... still in sandals so clearly not completely ready to say goodbye to the sunshine!
Black is supposed to be slimming isn't it? Well that was the hope! This dress isn't actually maternity... It's one I got years back from ASOS and I actually wore it on my first date with my hubby (although it looked very different then!) so it has a little sentimental value too!
As you can probably tell, I've kind of been living in these stretchy dresses. They are so comfy whilst almost still being quite flattering. I think now at this size... you almost need to show off your shape more rather than swamp it with material!
I'm also wearing my WHISTLES leather jacket which has to be more most worn item in my wardrobe (I don't know what I'd do with out it) and also my new shoes!!
This is no exaggeration, but I have wanted these shoes from R&B for 2 years at least. I've never been able to quite justify getting them though. Until... they went in the sale a few weeks ago, and then got reduced a second time and that was when I knew the deal had to be made!
I'm SO happy with them. They were slightly big so have added insoles but so worth it for the joy I have got out of them. A practical shoe too so are already getting plenty of use!
Last to mention but definitely not least... my new straw bag! It's super late in the season to be buying a new summer bag, but for the last couple of years I've been looking for a straw bag and I never seem to find one. This bag missed all my holidays but it is ready and waiting for next year!! Also... it was such a bargain. Hoping it's still in stock for you guys!
This is a blog title I could use A LOT through out my pregnancy as all maternity ranges seem to be full of stripes... it's almost hard to avoid them!
This particular dress is from NEWLOOK. As I mentioned in my announcement post, I've been loving and living in these stretchy jersey dresses!
It's taken me a while to actually feel comfortable in something so super tight and so bump exposing, but I'm just about there! These dress came in 3 colour ways too... I've got 2 of them and waiting for the last to come back in stock!
Paired with my stripes, I'm wearing a simple denim jacket from SHEIN which is new to my wardrobe! Through out the cooler months I LIVE in my leather jacket. This denim number is such a perfect alternative for the warmer days we are having and I think it works so well with the stripes! On my feet and my MARKS AND SPENCER suede sandals which I fell in love with as soon as I saw! Also, having slip on shoes is the best idea ever when there's a bump in the way!
A super simple and super comfy maternity look that I will absolutely be recycling!
It just so happens that I've been keeping a whopping big 6 month secret from you all! I'm so excited I am now finally announcing it!
Friends of my hubby and I have known since about 4 months but we both decided to go public a little later than usual for a number of reasons.
This isn't actually my first pregnancy, back in October last year we lost our first at just under 17 weeks pregnant. It was such an awful time and was so unexpected as I never thought it would ever happen to us. Being young and healthy I naively didn't even consider that something could possibly go wrong, and getting to 12 weeks you almost think you are out the danger zone, which in the majority of cases you are. We were just super duper unlucky and if anything it made me appreciate more than ever how much of a miracle it is to get pregnant, and have a healthy pregnancy and baby... Which is exactly the case this time! (Moving swiftly on and keeping that paragraph incredibly brief!)
This pregnancy has pretty much been a dream! It took me a good 3 months to believe I was actually pregnant, but once I got through that the excitement definitely took over. I didn't really suffer from morning sickness... just felt a lot hungrier which is actually quite hard to disguise when working in an office. Suddenly I became a major snacker! Of course we were both nervous at first, but this time round we were offered lots of extra scans for our peace of mind which was amazing. We got to first see what looked like a little jelly bean at 8 weeks, then also at 12, 16 and 20 weeks so have been truly spoilt with scan photos!
The 20 week scan is when you can find out the sex of the baby which we chose not to do! We always knew we would have a surprise for our first and I'm so excited that we don't know! I completely understand the practicality of finding out as I am currently shopping for lots of little things in white and grey!
With only 3 months to go, we are finally starting to get going with buying baby things. I've got such huge shopping lists on John Lewis, M & S, Ikea and Amazon and one by one orders are starting to be made which I'm finding far to exciting. Baby clothes are just SO irresistible!!
It's so lovely to finally be sharing this news and now of course lots more maternity related posts will follow! The count down for due date has begun... bring on October!
